"At Insul-Pipe Systems, we manufacture premium quality chilled water piping systems for a wide range of customers around the globe. Our custom engineered underground chilled water piping systems feature a closed cell polyurethane insulation, which provides the lowest thermal conductivity and highest natural resistance to water penetration of any standard insulation material. This minimizes both the maintenance requirements of the system and cooling losses between the entry and exit of the chilled water stream. All of the coupling and fitting kits provided with these systems are designed to provide the same level of moisture resistance as the piping system itself, resulting in a robust system that is well suited to a myriad of underground applications. Fitting insulation kits contain a polyurethane compound that is mixed in the field and poured into PVC molded fitting covers and then taped to create a watertight seal. The carrier pipe is chosen based on customer request and the specific application, with numerous options available. A few of the carrier pipe materials we carry include PVC, steel, ductile iron, and copper, all in various thicknesses, depending on the load bearing requirements. PVC, HDPE, or fiberglass jacketing is used to further protect the polyurethane insulation.
