Vertiv: Fundamentals of Codes, Standards and Regulations for Data Center Thermal Management

Overview

The terms “code” and “standard” are often used interchangeably; this presentation will explain the difference between these terms . Attendees will have knowledge of what the current regulatory landscape looks like for data center air conditioning equipment in the U.S. and get a glimpse of what U.S. regulations are expected to be in the near future.

 

Presenter

Tifft Gannon is the North American Technical Sales Director for Vertiv. His primary responsibility is leading the Thermal Management Technical Sales team and overseeing Vertiv’s Data Center Thermal Design Training program. In former roles, Tifft was responsible for the launch and product management of Vertiv’s air handler business. Earlier in his career, Tifft focused on the design and control of large applied systems with special focus on custom air handler applications. Tifft is a long time ASHRAE member who has served the society through involvement with the ASHRAE 90.1 Standards Committee and presenting to numerous ASHRAE chapters. He was the featured presenter for one of ASHRAE’s most well attended webcasts “Selecting the Right Air Handling Approach for Data Centers”. In addition to volunteering with ASHRAE, he has mentored teens through the Young Life organization for over 20 years. Tifft holds a BS in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University.
