Overview

  • While chilled water systems are used to absorb heat energy from within a building or process, this absorbed heat needs to be rejected. That is where condenser water systems come in. In this course, participants will explore the most common method of rejecting heat: cooling towers. Because tower water systems are open to the atmosphere making the water prone to contamination, participants will learn water treatment best practices and ways to prevent unwanted issues such as scale and bacteria. Attendees will be able to properly identify best design specifications for a counterflow tower versus a crossflow tower, probable causes of water contamination and solutions, implement additional safety precautions, and better design a complete chilled water system.
